Hermione
Named after a Harry Potter character, 14-week-old Hermione has
been well cared for by her foster mother, whose caring efforts
reflect the efforts of many of the volunteers with the Community
Animal Network, said DiAnna Pfaff-Martin, founder of the network.
But more volunteers like her are needed, Pfaff-Martin said.
“Calls for help supersede our donated dollars, and we always need
local people to house rescue animals,” Pfaff-Martin said. “School
begins in September and many of our helpers’ families will focus on
school and soccer and leave their summer community service with us.”
The organization, whose motto is “Together, We C.A.N. Make a
Difference,” is looking for people to donate money to help rescue
animals, as well as volunteers to drive the would-be pets to
veterinarian offices when needed, Pfaff-Martin said.

p.m. on weekends.
