SATURDAY WORKSHOPS
New Thought Christian Church will present Saturday workshops every
month from 10 a.m. to noon. Today, the Rev. Ken Gray will speak about
“The Artist’s Way.” Dr. Dick Vallandigham will speak about the
“Wisdom of the Ancient Chaldeans” on Aug. 17. Gray will speak again
about “The Artist’s Way” on Sept. 7. The church is at 1929 Tustin

TEMPLE OPEN HOUSE
Temple Bat Yahm will host its annual membership open house and

BIBLE 101
The Rev. Jim Turrell will teach about the structure and
composition of the Bible for four weeks at 7 p.m. Wednesdays at the
Center for Spiritual Discovery, 2850 Mesa Verde Drive East, Costa
Mesa. This Wednesday’s class will focus on “Bible Mystery, Meaning
and Jonah.” The Aug. 14 class will focus on “Bible Origin, History
and Noah.” “About the Bible; Jesus, Joseph & Paul” will be the focus

HOW THEY’RE WRITTEN
Rabbi Joseph Kraft will teach how the Torah is written at 2 p.m.
Aug. 11 at Temple Isaiah of Newport Beach, 2401 Irvine Ave., Newport
Beach. Rabbi Joseph Mentz will accompany Kraft with a show about
making a shofar, machzor and a prayer book for High Holy Days. (949)

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
The Lighthouse in Costa Mesa will hold a Vacation Bible School on
the theme ‘’Faith Mountain’’ from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 12-16 at the
church, 1885 Anaheim St., Costa Mesa. The school is for children 3 to

BROWN BAG MUSICALS
The Senior Ministry of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church
will present a series of Brown Bag Musicals this summer at the parish
