UCI soccer picks up 11

ANTEATER STADIUM -- UC Irvine men’s soccer coach George Kuntz has
announced the signing of 11 student-athletes to national letters of
intent. Nine of the incoming players are from the high school ranks
and two, midfielders Lee Berry and Agustin Neuspiller, are from
Irvine Valley College.
Among the freshmen are forwards Kyle Close (Elk Grove-Sheldon),
Sean Iliff (Fountain Valley) and Dan La Rocque (Alta Loma), defenders
Cameron Dunn (Alta Loma) and Sergio Rivera (Dana Hills), and
midfielders Jonathan Eckert (West of Plano, Tex.), Chris Klotz (Dana
Hills), Drew Tolman (Fountain Valley) and Christopher (Kit)
Vitagliano (Horizon of Scottsdale, Az.).
Berry prepped at Villa Park High and Neuspiller is from Buenos
Aires, Argentina.
UCI, which was 10-4-6 overall and second in the Big West
Conference last year, opens the 2002 season Aug. 31, hosting
Alabama-Birmingtham at the stadium, starting at 7 p.m.
