Suggestions for Triangle Square improvements
I would love to see an Applebee’s Restaurant there. I love
Applebee’s Restaurant, and there aren’t any near us in Orange County,
the closest being Fountain Valley.
Also I would like easier access for people with disabilities or
with strollers in Triangle Square. I would love to shop at the Gap
but have to walk a whole city block to get to the front door, it’s
just too much. I don’t understand why they can’t have an entrance
directly from the garage into the Gap. It would be a lot easier to
get around. Anyway, I hope they make some improvements. It’s a nice
shopping center, but it needs a lot of work.

I think they should have a bowling alley and a nightclub
downstairs where the market used to be.

Former committee member disappointed
I was a member of the Costa Mesa Human Relations Committee from
1993 to 1999, and I am very disappointed to read that the very
committee that was created to foster harmony in such a diverse
community as ours has in fact become the cause for disharmony.
If there are any members on the Human Relations Committee with an
agenda other than carrying out the mission and goals of the
committee, they should tender their resignation now.

Pilot’s new look garners kudos and suggestions
Congratulations to the Daily Pilot for your new “Your Work Week”
section.
With an emphasis on business, the section is an outstanding
service to the many businesses in the Newport Beach-Costa Mesa
community.
As this area continues to mature, business plays a fundamental,
but important part in its success. The Daily Pilot staff has taken a
proactive step to make this publication more relevant to today’s
active employers and employees, as well as to the consumer.
We at the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce applaud the Daily
Pilot for looking to the future of our community and providing an
important new addition to its successful publication.

I’m just getting used to the new look of the Pilot. Change is
inevitable, so I guess change is a good thing.
I used to throw the Pilot when I was a kid back in Huntington
Beach when the Pilot was over in Huntington Beach also. I’m an
airline pilot and the only thing that I want left over when I come
back home are the three days worth of Daily Pilots to find out what’s
going on in the local area. You guys do a great job.
Now with that said, here is my comment. What is the criteria for
whether or not you put an address relating with a story?
I would submit that historically that’s the one thing I have a
hard time with.
When we’re talking about various projects in and around the city,
there’s no indication as to where they are or even a general area.
For example, the Habitat for Humanity project, which I’ve been
following, it would be nice to know generally where that is.
Anyway, keep doing what you’re doing with the Pilot. Put those
addresses and those cross-streets in there and maps, I love maps.

Is something amiss with city’s reclaimed water?
I was wondering if anyone else in the Newport Beach area that has
a homeowners association such as ours utilizing reclaimed water to
keep the green belts watered and watering the plants, has any kind of
illness appearing with their animals.
My cat that eats the grass outside over the last few months has
gone through a series of increased vomiting, upset stomach and
someone mentioned to me that it could possibly be some chemicals in
the water, and I was wondering if anyone else in the area was
experiencing that kind of effect.
