Volleyball players to represent Laguna

Four high school athletes will be representing the city of Laguna
Beach this week at the 23rd annual Boys Volleyball Junior Olympics held
in Louisville, Ky.
Each a member of the Laguna Beach High boys’ volleyball program, the
local foursome is comprised of Matt Anderson, Nick Aronoff and brothers
Trey and Andrew Chapel.
Anderson, Aronoff and Trey Chapel will be playing in the 28-team, 17
Open Division.
Andrew Chapel will be playing in the 15 Club Division.
The Kentucky State Fairgrounds is the host site of the Junior
Olympics, with Freedom Hall on the campus of the University of Louisville
serving as the main facility for the athletic competition.
Anderson plays club volleyball for the Balboa Bay 17-Blue team,
Aronoff for the Long Beach Club 17s, Trey Chapel for the Southern
California Volleyball Club 17-1 team and Andrew Chapel for the SCVC 15-1
team.
Anderson, a 2002 All-CIF second team selection, and Aronoff will be
seniors at Laguna Beach High in the fall, Trey Chapel will be a junior
and Andrew Chapel will be a sophomore.
The Junior Olympics, a six-day event, concludes on Monday.
