Four Eastbluff Elementary School students from Newport Beach met

musical recording group O Town on June 4. Tess Crane, Amanda Young, Lisa

Radomski and Amanda Garrett met the group during a Nickelodeon Television

taping in Los Angeles. . . . Kianna Jaye of Corona del Mar was selected

to attend the National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C., in

August. Designed for high school students who have demonstrated

leadership potential and scholastic merit, the conference will provide

students with an opportunity to meet with key leaders and newsmakers in

government, the media and the international community. Jaye will also

participate in various leadership skill-building and judicial simulation

activities. . . . The Society of Design Administration awarded Judy

Merrill, office manager for Nadel Architect’s Retail Division’s Costa

Mesa office, the design administrator certification for her outstanding

achievement in the nontechnical design field. Merrill, who is serving a

third term as the president of the society, met the criteria set forth in

choosing recipients for certification, demonstrated leadership in the

design community and displayed a strong commitment to continuing her

education in her chosen profession. . . . National Bank of California

announced the officers for the bank’s new regional office in Costa Mesa.

Barry W. Uzel, president and chief executive of the bank, named Peggy

Wilson regional vice president, Jerry Votava and Patty McAdams vice

presidents and business banking officers, and Cheryl Vargas operations

officer. Each new officer has more than 20 years of banking experience

and is expected to add to the bank’s specializing service of business

clients. . . . Elizabeth Wahler of Corona del Mar was initiated into the

Epsilon Tau Chapter of the Sigma Kappa Sorority. Wahler, a junior

majoring in anthropology and art history, will join the members of Sigma

Kappa in their efforts to help each other reach academic success,

personal growth, sisterhood and philanthropic service.
