An Aug. 29 preliminary hearing date has been set for Trenton Veches,
the former Newport Beach recreation coordinator accused of inappropriate
sexual contact with children. The decision was made in a pretrial hearing
that took place Friday. Veches’ attorney, John P. Dolan, said the defense
is working to assure that the Aug. 29 date won’t be set back.
Veches, 31, has been accused of lewd conduct with at least 47 children
who participated in city recreation programs. Investigators reported they
found in Veches’ possession hundreds of electronic images of children.
The photos allegedly show Veches sucking the children’s toes.
