Newport Beach seafood eatery reinvents itself
By launching a new lunch service and changing its name, Newport Beach
restaurant Gulfstream has set its sights on making fresh seafood its
primary focus.
Not only has the restaurant acquired a new name and begun opening its
doors at 11:30 a.m. every day, but it has also created a new atmosphere.
Steering away from the bar scene ambience that evolved when it was
Cowboy Seafood, Gulfstream has created a more friendly neighborhood feel,
said Robert McLain, general manager of the restaurant.
“The Gulfstream is known for attracting the best fish. That’s why it’s
the perfect choice to emphasize our quality seafood,” McLain said in a
press release. “It also represents our commitment to providing all fresh
menu selections, including the grill items and oysters.”
Purchased by Houston’s Restaurant Co., the new ownership scoured the
world for various ingredients, fashioning a restaurant menu made up
entirely of items made from scratch.
In addition to providing its guests with a new menu, the restaurant
also provides them with a jazz trio performance on Sunday and Wednesday
evenings, unique sculptures and paintings, and an overall warm and casual
atmosphere.
