District 62 Tournament of Champions: Indians set to do battle
FOUNTAIN VALLEY - The Costa Mesa American Little League Minor B
Indians wasted no time, scoring four runs in the first inning, never
looking back as they defeated the Westminster Yankees setting up today’s
quarterfinal matchup against Fountain Valley today at 9 a.m. at Mile
Square Park.
The Indians added three runs in the second, two in the third and
scored the remaining five runs in the fourth and fifth innings.
Tommy Stephens pitched all six innings, getting out of a bases-loaded
no-out jam with the help of solid defense from catcher Michael Quiros,
first baseman J.T. McLuckey, second baseman Trace Curet, shortstop James
Lewis and third baseman Aaron White.
Martin Myszynski, C.J. Arehart, Nick Bernstein and Kody Bakos provided
key hits for the Indians. Lila Blackney scored a run after walking, and
Zachary Lehman played strong defense.
