Piranhas shade Kings, 4-3

Tyler Ruiz scored off a James Dufour feed in the final period to lift
the Piranhas past the Kings, 4-3, in Patrick Division play.
Ruiz’s goal came at the 12:02 mark of the third period. The win
allowed the Piranhas to share the regular season title with the Kings.
Both teams finished with a 7-2-1 record and will be the top seeded
teams in this week’s division postseason tournament.
Dufour also had a goal, as did Drew Ruiz, for the Piranhas.
Brian Weingart, Armando Reyes Jr. and Brandon Prince all had assists.
Ryan Turchi tamed the net with 27 saves.
The Kings’ scoring was spread among Keith Dickson, Troy Weis and Joe
Murphy.
James Coelho and Andrew Hayashi each had assists.
Twenty-five saves went to Geoff Blaskey.

Flames 9, Thunder 6
Jason Holmes scored three goals and assisted another as the Flames
(2-7-1) ended the regular season on a winning note.
Goals were scored by Heather Harvey, Brett Hastings, Corey Brown, Dan
Zike, J.T. LaPlount and Stephanie Martin.
LaPlount, Zike and Harvey each had assists and Blake Easton had 18
saves.
Jessica Hay scored three goals to lead a Thunder attack that saw
Jordan Wallace score twice with an assist and Chayce Yokoyama score once.
Kyle Bezayiff’s busy day in goal included 35 saves.
The Thunder finished the regular season with a 4-4-2 record and are
seeded third in the division playoffs.
Atomic 9, Avalanche 6
Erik Stern and Shane Galaviz each poured in three goals to pace Atomic
(4-5-1).
Goals went to Chad Ramsey, Brian Elliot and Andrew Casper, and assists
were recorded by Ramsey, Stern, Casper, Elliott, Kevin Kraus and Shamus
Dick.
Atomic goalie Phil Vournazos had 22 saves.
Sam Whittaker topped the Avalanche (3-5-2) with three goals, Mats
Degerstedt scored twice, Ryan Morgan had a goal and an assist and Cody
Quarress had an assist.
The Atomic earned a No. 4 tournament seed while the Avalanche are No.
5.
