Tournament of Champions continues today

The 2002 District 62 Tournament of Champions continues today with

first round action at two sites.

The Area 1 single elimination competition is taking place at Mile

Square Park in Fountain Valley. Area 2 play is at Costa Mesa American

Little League.

Today’s 5 p.m. slate at Mile Square Park includes a Majors Division

showdown between the A’s, champion of Huntington Valley Little League,

against Ocean View No. 2.

In Minor A Division play, Huntington Valley No. 1 will take on

Robinwood No. 2. The Minor B contest will feature Ocean View No. 2 taking

on Costa Mesa National No. 1.

At 5 p.m. at Costa Mesa American Little League today, Seaview No. 1

will meet Huntington Valley No. 2 in Majors play. The Minor A game is

Robinwood No. 1 versus Costa Mesa National No. 2, and the final Minor B

first round game has Seaview No. 1 up against Costa Mesa National No. 2.

First round play in the Senior Minor Division concludes today with

Robinwood No. 1 taking on Fountain Valley No. 2 at 5 p.m. at Robinwood

Little League.

Semifinal action in each of the areas for Majors, Minor A and Minor B,

takes place at each location on Saturday. Game times for each division’s

semis are 9 a.m. and noon.

The Senior Minor Division semifinals also will take place at 9 a.m.

and noon on Saturday.

The finals in each area will be played Monday at 5 p.m. and the

division championship games will be played Wednesday, June 26, also at 5

p.m.

Fountain Valley Little League is hosting each division’s Tournament of

Champions title game at Mile Square Park.

The Senior Minor final will be played Monday, 5 p.m., at Robinwood.
