Local trio headed for Salt Lake City
A trio of Huntington Beach athletes will depart Saturday for Salt Lake
City to compete in the upcoming 2002 Snickers United States Youth Soccer
Assn. Regional Championships.
Michael Oseguera, J.T. Searles and Drew Dominesey, all from Marina
High, will play for the Pateadores, a Mission Viejo based soccer club.
Oseguera concluded his senior year at Marina this past week and is
heading to UC Berkeley in the fall. He excelled at the goalie position
and twice was an All-Sunset League first team selection and played in two
high school All-Star games.
In addition, Oseguera, who served as the Vikings’ team captain, was a
first team All-CIF Southern Section pick this spring.
Searles just completed his junior year at Marina. He played midfield
for Marina and was a first team all-league pick, but fills in at fullback
for the Pateadores.
He is a two-time state Olympic development player. He plays for the
Seahorses of the Professional Development League.
Dominesey joined Oseguera in Marina’s 2002 graduating class and will
head to Rio Hondo College in Whittier in the fall. A second team
all-league selection, he plays midfield for the Pateadores.
