Sharks clamp down on Badgers
Zachary Beko netted four goals and the Sharks kept atop the Norris
Division standings by beating the Badgers, 5-3.
Beko scored two unassisted goals before Blake Vanderham scored off a
Ryan Cox feed. Beko scored near the end of the second period as the
Sharks took a 4-3 lead.
With goalkeeper Brett Shaver keeping the Badgers out of the net in the
decisive third period, Beko put the game away when he scored off a Conor
Murphy assist.
Shaver finished the game with 32 saves as the Sharks improved to 8-2.
Alec Schartner had a goal and an assist, James Williams and David
Abady scored once, Michael Godinho had an assist and Andrew Livezey
recorded 31 assists for the Badgers, who fell to 3-5-2.
In other games:
Fire 6, Aloha 1
Kyle Martins scored three goals and Jared Neely added two more as the
second place Fire improved to 7-2-1.
Tyler O’Donnell also scored, Neal MacPherson and Matt Schnautz had
assists and Travis Beckman came up with 36 saves.
Aloha, which fell to 2-4-4, got a second period goal from Matt Korn,
and 32 saves from Max Devries.
Blackhawks 4, Blades 1
Kyle Day scored the Blackhawks’ first three goals, one off an assist
from Kelly Culhane, and Dallas Heyden scored off a Keith Fronk feed in
the third period.
Chris Jernigan had 29 saves for the winners, who are now 4-3-3.
For the Blades, now 3-6-1, Jacob Sabraw scored off a Marcus Velasco
assist, and Kyle McGeary had 30 saves.
Diablos 4, Thrashers 2
Zachery Dickson scored twice with an assist, Julien Laux scored one
goal with an assist, Jordan Conaway scored once, Jake Robinson had an
assist, and Lewis Gifford’s busy day in the net included 35 saves as the
Diablos ran their record to 5-1-4.
Nainoa Ane and Corey Jones scored, Kevin Gast had an assist and Eric
Grant had 36 saves to lead the Thrashers (4-3-3).
