Fun for kids and families in Costa Mesa

It’s all about kids having fun in the sun.
The city of Costa Mesa’s Recreation Division will offer both a summer
camp and a Kids Night Out this summer.
The camp will start June 24 for children between ages 6 and 12.
Through Aug. 23, kids will meet at TeWinkle Park and play games, do
arts and crafts and take small trips to local places. The hours are 7
a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Cost is $110 for extended days and $90 for regular days. Space is
limited.

Kids Night Out will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. June 15 at the Bombers
Fun Center in Irvine. Children between ages 7 and 12 are welcome.
Participants should meet at the Balearic Community Center, 1975 Balearic
Drive, Costa Mesa for a night of miniature golf, laser tag and more.
Cost is $15. Registration will close Thursday.

Audition to do Shakespeare in Balboa
Auditions for “Shakespeare in the Village” will be held from 6 to 8
p.m. Sunday for the Balboa Performing Arts Theater Foundation’s
production at the Village of Balboa, to celebrate the reopening of the
Balboa Pier.
The producers and directors are looking for four men and four women as
well as musicians. Familiarity with performing Shakespeare’s work is a
plus.
Performances will run June 21, 22 and 23 at various hours during the
day and evening.
Interested actors should bring a picture and resume and meet at 6 p.m.
Sunday in front of the Balboa Theater, 707 E. Balboa Blvd., Newport
Beach.

All-American Boys go to Asia
The All-American Boys Chorus, based in Costa Mesa, will take its first
tour of Asia this summer.
Stops for the 36 chorus members, ages 11-15, will include Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Taipei, Seoul and Beijing.
Tour dates are July 27 through Aug. 26.
The chorus’ program will include Broadway favorites, 1920s classics
and California songs. Highlights include a performance for the sultan of
the state of Perak in Malaysia.
