The Coast Community College District’s board has selected a Huntington
Beach woman to head Coastline Community College.
Ding-Jo Currie, will take over as president of the community college,
which is based in Fountain Valley.
“We’re certainly looking forward to Dr. Currie joining the Coast
District and building on Coastline’s success in finding ways to make
education easily accessible for a diverse group of students,” Chancellor
Bill Vega said. “Her community college experience and her familiarity
with the local area as a longtime resident of Huntington Beach should
make the transition seamless.”
Currie has spent 22 years in the California Community College system.
Since 1997, she has held an assistant superintendent post at Rio Hondo
College in Whittier.
Before coming to Rio Hondo, Currie worked at Saddleback College and
Long Beach City College.
Currie, who will begin work July 1, said she was excited to take on
the challenge.
“I am very honored to have the opportunity,” Currie said. “I am
looking forward to working with Coastline’s blue-ribbon team of
educators.”
