FULLERTON - Corona del Mar High senior Billy Eagle popped out and
grounded out in his two at-bats Tuesday in the Orange County All-Star
Baseball Game at Cal State Fullerton.
Eagle, a two-time All-CIF Southern Section standout who will play
collegiately at UCLA, started at designated hitter for the South.
The four-year varsity performer popped a 1-2 pitch to the second
baseman in his first at-bat, then grounded out on an 0-1 pitch, before
leaving the game.
Eagle was the first Newport-Mesa player since 1999 to play in the
annual showcase of the county’s top seniors.
