SG G-Men get best of Nolan, 6-4
Mike Sciacca
Nolan may have won the regular season AAA Division championship, but
the team has become a target in Laguna Beach Little League postseason
play.
The SG G-Men continued to roll in the playoffs by adding Nolan to
their list of victims, as they scored a 6-4 upset.
The G-Men went up against Nolan starting pitcher Michael Opera but
went on to churn out six runs off the ace and reliever Ryan Raffo with a
balanced offensive output of Andrew Shapero, Jackson Christy, Tyler
MacRae, Ian Greene and Tyce Phillipi.
Raphael Vickers went the distance for the G-Men and held Nolan to just
four hits in a standout performance.
Vickers was backed by a defense that featured shortstop Jake Glazer,
Matt Anderson, Sean Kimball, Alex Gromet and Robbie Quellmalz.
Nolan was led on offense by Michael Neihbur’s double and hits by Shane
Korber, Billy Vail, Sean Spera and Kellan Lindley.
Catcher Stevie Contursi, Paul Soloman, Garrett Hartwell and Clay
Steele paced Nolan on defense.
