WEATHER FORECAST
The coast along Newport Beach will see some early morning fog and low
clouds, though they’ll burn off for a mostly sunny day. Highs will be in
the mid-60s in Newport Beach and about 70 in Costa Mesa. Much of the same
will be found through this Memorial Day weekend, though high clouds may
be seen Saturday. Next week, it’s looking warmer so far.

BOATING FORECAST
The westerly winds will blow their typical 10 to 15 knots in the inner
waters this afternoon, with 2-foot waves and a west swell of 3 to 5 feet.
Winds will ease later tonight and the swell will back down to 2 to 4
feet. Areas of fog will be found both early and late.
Out farther, patchy fog will be found early. The winds will blow 10 to
15 knots, with 2-foot waves and a northwest swell of 4 to 7 feet. Later,
the winds will ease to about 10 knots, with 2-foot waves and a northwest
swell of 4 to 6 feet.
SURF
The latest southwest energy will provide us some waist- to chest-high
waves today, though we’ll back down to knee- to waist-high sets Sunday.
The rest of the long weekend, too, will be smallish.
