WEATHER FORECAST
The skies today should resemble those seen Wednesday -- cloudy early
and sunny later. Highs will fall shy of 70 in Costa Mesa and should
approach the mid-60s in Newport Beach. Lows again will be in the mid-50s.
Slightly warmer temperatures will arrive Friday and Saturday. Showers,
however, may not be far off.

BOATING FORECAST
Early morning low clouds and fog will be found today. The westerly
winds will blow 10 to 15 knots in the inner waters this afternoon, with
2-foot waves and a west swell of 3 to 5 feet. The same will be found this
evening, though winds will lighten to 10 knots tonight.
Out farther, the northwesterly winds will blow 15 to 25 knots this
afternoon, with 2- to 4-foot waves and a northwest swell of 9 to 12 feet.
This evening, a small-craft advisory will go into effect as the winds
pick up to 20 to 30 knots.
SURF
We’ll see a lot of knee- to waist-high surf today and Friday, though
another southwest swell should pick up a bit Saturday. Then, expect some
waist- to chest-high sets.
