No Square Theatre will host “Acting on Wine -- A Taste for Theatre,”
an evening of wine tasting, food, jazz and silent auction to raise funds
to purchase a theatre in downtown and to continue providing an annual
scholarship for a graduate of Laguna Beach High School.
“We involve everyone from all walks of life and ages who want to be
involved in something creative,” said Lisa Morrice, board member and
publicity coordinator for the Theatre.
Since 1992 the Theatre under the artistic direction of Bree Burgess
has produced the annual “Lagunatics: A Musical Roast of Life on the
Coast.” This year they will be producing two musicals and a children’s
production to run during the summer. The nonprofit organization also
holds concerts and professional workshops.
The event will include premium wines and the sounds of Lynda Roth and
Karen Gallinger. Vintners such as Clos La Chance, the Kenwood Artist
Series, Raymond, Cakebread, Louis Jadot, Trefethen and Robert Mondavi
will be featured. The event will be catered by The Upper Crust.
The tasting starts from 3 to 6 p.m. at [seven degrees], 891 Laguna
Canyon Road. Tickets are $75 and must be reserved by May 14. For tickets
and more information call 497-1950.
