COSTA MESA - The boys’ AYSO Region 120 12-and-under Spring Select

soccer team is 9-0 this season, scoring 41 goals while only allowing

seven.

The team’s goal is to go undefeated and have each player score at

least one goal during the season.

Twelve of the team’s 15 players have scored.

Forwards are Juan Guadarrama, Martin Angulo, Ricky Saldana, Anthony

Flores and Andrew Niles. Defenders include Daniel Saldana, Joe Brancheau,

Matt Glascock and Ramon Tasbihchi.

Midfielders are Uli Vega, Jaybenny Quiroz, Gabriel Sanchez, Lalo

Aguilar, Cesar Amadorn and Amir Nasiri.

Goalies Andrew Niles and Anthony Flores have been solid in the net,

recording three shutouts.

In Costa Mesa Boys 12 and younger AYSO Recreation Team action:

The Maniacs have gone 4-2 so far this spring, winning their last two

games while short-handed, 4-2 and 4-0.

Daniel Calderon, Chad and Christian Lopez, Gabrial Wood and Jorge

Oporto contributed to the scoring.

Defenders Robert Hernandez, Alex Allison, Josh Zamora, William

Rodriguez and Carlos Valencia played strong defense to help keep the ball

away from their goalies.

Midfielders Kevin Whitaker and Chris Ruiz kept the ball moving between

the defense and the forwards and assisted on many goals.
