Artists’ boys’ volleyball takes center stage
- Share via
Laguna Beach High, celebrating 30 years of boys’ volleyball, will put
its own talent on center stage tonight in its annual varsity-alumni
match.
A 5:45 p.m. scrimmage between the Artists’ junior varsity and
frosh/soph teams will precede the match, which is scheduled for a 7 p.m.
start.
Many former players are planning to take part in the match with
all-CIF players Bill Christiansen, Oz Simmons and Jamie Plummer leading
the 1970s contingent.
Over the last 30 years, Laguna Beach teams have captured five CIF
Division I championships, 20 league titles and nine Orange Orange County
Championship titles.
All are records for an Orange County high school.
Admission is $5 per adult and $1 per student. Proceeds from the match
help support the school’s boys’ volleyball program.
