Thomas Mitchell has been named vice chancellor of university
advancement at UC Irvine.
He is the president and chief executive of the Iowa State University
Foundation, where he oversees the procurement and management of financial
support for the university, its faculty, students and other
constituencies. He also directs the school’s numerous giving programs,
which reached a record level of $430 million in 2000.
“Mitchell is a nationally respected, proven leader with great
integrity, an engaging and energetic style and an impressive track record
of working closely with faculty, deans, staff and volunteers in advancing
the institution’s interests,” said C. Ronald Huff, dean of UCI’s School
of Social Ecology.
He will start in July.
