Newport-Mesa All-American Football: Football and cheerleader

Newport-Mesa football players and cheerleaders can sign up for the
upcoming Jr. All-American season on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Saturday in the multipurpose room at Lincoln Elementary School, 3101
Pacific View Dr. in Corona del Mar.
A second signup session is planned for the same site and time on May
18.
Football players’ registration fee is $220. It is $110 for
cheerleaders. After May 18, registration increases to $250 for football
and $130 for cheerleading.
Football registration fee includes use of all equipment (helmets,
uniforms, sleds), game jersey with name on back, a trophy, insurance and
a physical exam.
The registration fee for cheerleaders includes a trophy, insurance and
a physical exam. New cheerleaders must purchase uniforms for $200.
Returning players and cheerleaders need to bring: a parent or
guardian, a check for the registration fee, proof of residence and shorts
and a T-shirt for the physical. Cheerleaders should wear casual clothes.
New players and cheerleaders must bring all of the above and an
original or certified copy of a birth certificate.
Both football and cheerleader practices begin Monday, July 29, from
5:45 to 7:45 p.m. at Corona del Mar High School. Practices run Mondays
through Thursdays.
Beginning Sept. 3, practices run Tuesdays through Thursdays from 5:45
to 7:45 p.m. at Bonita Creek Park. Games are played on Saturdays.
