City posts scooter rules
In response to resident questions about motor scooters, the city has
posted scooter rules on its Web site, o7
www.city.newport-beach.ca.us/f7 . The information, located under the
“Current News” pull-down menu from the main page, includes all city
regulations governing motorized scooters. For example, scooter users must
be 16 years of age, wear a bicycle helmet and ride on a street next to
the right curb, or in a bike lane.
“We were getting a lot of requests about scooters, and our Web site is
the easiest, most convenient way to get the information out to as many
people as possible,” Newport Beach Police Department Sgt. Steve Shulman
said.
