Greco dance concert canceled at OCC
Orange Coast College has announced that the April 6 performance by the
Jose Greco II Flamenco Dance Company has been canceled because of
scheduling conflicts.

Newport Dunes to hold Easter egg hunt
The Newport Dunes Resort Hotel will hold an Easter egg hunt to benefit
26 youth from the Orange Coast Interfaith Shelter, a Costa Mesa-based
organization that helps families support themselves, at 8 a.m. March 30
at the Dunes, 1131 Back Bay Drive, Newport Beach.
The children between 2 and 13 years old are welcome to participate,
and the cost is $3 per child. A pancake breakfast, costing $4 for adults

Throat singers, sitar part of World Stages
The Philharmonic Society of Orange County and the Irvine Barclay
Theatre recently announced their 2002-03 World Stages series.
Anoushka Shankar will open the series on Oct. 16, a group of Tuvan
throat singers called Huun Huur Tu will follow, Afro-pop guitarist Habib
Koite will perform Jan. 16, the Trinity Irish Dance Company will perform
March 15, 2003, a program titled “Music, Dance and Martial Arts of
Manipur, India” will be staged April 1, 2003, and the Orquesta Aragon, a
Cuban band, will close the series May 3, 2003.
All performances will be at the Barclay, 4242 Campus Drive, Irvine.

Arts Awards dinner set for April
Arts Orange County will hold its Orange County Arts Awards dinner,
which recognizes cultural achievements in the community and tributes the
efforts of area visionaries, April 18 at the Four Seasons Hotel in
Newport Beach, 690 Newport Center Drive.
Among the award categories are the Annual Achievement Awards and the
Cultural Legacy Awards.
