Prep baseball: Aztecs sweep Mesa
COSTA MESA - Visiting La Quinta High provided a dose of humility
for previously unbeaten Costa Mesa Tuesday, sweeping a nonleague baseball
doubleheader, 9-0, and 6-0, at TeWinkle Park.
Mesa senior catcher Mike Carrasco had both Mesa hits in the second
game, a five-inning contest, after A.J. Perkins and Nathan Hunter
accounted for the Mustangs’ two hits in the first game.
Mesa sophomore Adam Jorgenson pitched two scoreless innings of relief
in the second game, striking out three.
The Mustangs (4-2) host University in the Pacific Coast League opener
Friday at 3:15 p.m.
