Slapshots earn 6-3 victory
Trevor Dunbar netted three goals and also assisted another over the
weekend to lead the Slapshots to a 6-3 Norris Division victory over the
Aloha.
The Slapshots built a 5-2 lead through two periods, with Dunbar
getting all three of his goals during the quick start. Zachary Sellards
and Robert Oliver each scored once and Oliver also assisted two of the
first five goals.
Tony McConnell’s third-period goal finished the scoring for the
Slapshots.
Corey DeMatteo recorded 20 saves in the win.
Brett Urabe had a goal and an assist to lead the Aloha, Zachery
Dickson and Jason Smith also scored, Kevin Gast had an assist and Darrell
McDonald finished with 26 saves.
In other games:
Blades 4, Thunder 1
Sean Froelich scored twice, Corey Pack and Luke Bosiljevac each scored
once, Ashley Earl picked up an assist and Brett Shaver had 24 saves to
power the Blades.
Jonathan Combest scored an unassisted goal in the third period to help
the Thunder avert a shutout. Tyler Schultz had 24 saves.
Steel Wheels 5, Diablos 4
Jeffrey Ivora scored two goals, Rich Sanchez, Cheyne Taylor and Nick
Hansen all scored and William DeWit recorded 24 saves to lead the Steel
Wheels.
The Diablos’ Jake Robinson was the game’s high scorer with three
goals, Bryan Hodges scored once and Lewis Gifford had 27 saves.
