Newport Beach advertising agency Lawrence & Ponder Ideaworks earned a
national award last year for its marketing of a hamburger chain.
The agency earned a National Citation of Excellence at the 2001
National ADDY Awards for its free-standing insert for client Fatburger.
The award recognizes creative excellence in media of local, regional
and national advertising. Entries are judged by top creative directors
from around the country.
To qualify for a trophy, an entrant must first win an award in one of
the 220 local competitions sponsored by the American Advertising
Federation, and then be selected in one of 14 district competitions
before reaching the national level.
Lawrence & Ponder’s work for Fatburger had previously won a District
15 American Advertising Federation Award. District 15 incorporates
Southern California and Southern Nevada regions.
The award competition is the nation’s largest advertising competition,
with more than 60,000 entries in 2001.
Lawrence & Ponder was founded in 1991 and has won more than 350
awards. The 35-employee firm provides strategic, branding, ideation,
creative, interactive and production services including forms of
advertising, public relations and marketing for clients such as
Fatburger, Tenet HealthSystem, Second Harvest Food Bank, California
Department of Health Services and the Governor’s Office of the Secretary
for Education.
