Community college baseball: Pirates slug Hornets, 9-3
COSTA MESA - The Orange Coast College baseball team used a five-run
eighth inning to secure a 9-3 Orange Empire Conference victory over
visiting Fullerton Thursday.
The Pirates (12-3, 1-1 in the OEC) left 12 runners on base, but still
managed to grab the win ignited by freshman Donny Murphy’s two-run home
run in the second inning. OCC pitcher Justin Azze improved his record to
4-0 and sophomore Rob Williams earned his first save of the season.
OCC returns to OEC action Saturday at noon, hosting Cypress.
