Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault that took place at
Golden West College, while it was closed Monday for the Presidents Day
holiday.
A woman alleges that she met a male in his 40s at the Del Taco
restaurant across the street from campus. They walked across the street
to the campus and to the a stairwell near Building No. 6 when the man
allegedly tried to assault her, said Sgt Gary Meza, of the Huntington
Beach Police Department.
“They had apparently just met,” Meza said. “The college was closed so
he was probably looking for an area with not a lot of traffic. She was
afraid he was going to hurt her, but she was not hurt.”
Police said the victim was older than 18 but couldn’t give a specific
age.
Police described the suspect as male, 5-feet-8 inches tall with a
medium build, black hair and wearing a red, white and blue long-sleeved
shirt, blue jeans and sandals with no socks.
