Five receive awards

Five employees of the Huntington Beach Police Department received
awards for their dedicated service to the community.
They were recognized during the police department’s annual Employees
Awards Breakfast held Wednesday in the department’s training rooms.
Fellow employees nominated them for the awards and a committee
representing a cross section of the police department, which included
Police Chief Ronald Lowenberg selected the recipients. The five
recipients were: Sgt. Richard Butcher, supervisor of the year; officer
Mike Lyons, uniformed officer of the year; Detective Mike Nakama,
non-uniformed officer of the year; Dispatch Supervisor Kim Meadows,
civilian employee of the year and officer Rodney Besuzzi, new officer of
the year.
