Pet of the Week

“A very rare white Oriental Siamese, ‘Witty,’ and a blue point
Siamese, ‘Blue,’ must stay together for life,” said DiAnna Pfaff-Martin,
organizer of the Community Animal Network.
You can see possible pets at o7 www.animalnetwork.orgf7 or stop by
Russo’s pet store at Fashion Island between noon and 4 p.m. this weekend.
Last year, the network spent $60,000 on veterinary services,
medicines, food and supplies for local rescue animals, Pfaff-Martin said.
No salaries were paid. Russo’s donated $4,000 of pet food. And $ 7,000 is
still owed to local veterinarians from last year’s bills, she said.
In hopes of attracting donations and sponsors, Pfaff-Martin will again
be writing her “Animal Report.” Office Depot on Jamboree Boulevard will
print them, and local businesses will distribute it. Last published in
1999, about 8,000 reports were distributed around town.
