Newport Beach finance statements show little

The three Newport Beach City Council members who ran in the last
election filed campaign finance statements last week that showed they
have little money on hand.
Between July 1 and Dec. 31, Councilman Gary Proctor’s campaign
received $22,952 in contributions, a large portion of which was used to
pay off loans that helped finance his campaign.
Neither Steve Bromberg nor John Heffernan collected contributions for
the period.
All three have less than $1,000 on hand.
Pat Beek, who ran against Bromberg, had not filed a statement by
Monday afternoon.
Any council member whose campaign committee is still considered active
is required to file the statements periodically.
