Community college women’s basketball: OCC women trounce Rustlers,

HUNTINGTON BEACH - The Orange Coast College women’s basketball team
shot 60% in the first half to cruise to a 64-43 Orange Empire Conference
over host Golden West Friday.
Freshman Candice Quiroz led the Pirates (18-7, 4-4 in the OEC) with 13
points, shooting 6 of 8 from the field (75%). OCC freshman point guard
Nancy Hatsushi added 10 points, and hit 2 of 4 from three-point range.
The Pirates also shot 12 of 18 (67%) from the foul line in the first
half to help send their rivals to a 5-19, 0-8 record. OCC freshman Liz
Mendoza contributed nine points, while freshman teammates Erin John and
Lindsey Galasso scored seven apiece.
