JWA arrival from San Francisco searched
A plane heading from San Francisco to Orange County was searched
Wednesday after the Northern California airport’s terminal was evacuated
when explosive residue was found on a man’s shoes.
United Airlines officials searched Flight 1577 shortly after it landed
at John Wayne Airport.
The flight, which departed at 7:27 a.m. and landed at 8:38 a.m., was
searched after the passengers left the plane. No explosives were found,
airport spokeswoman Ann McCarley said.
San Francisco International was evacuated Wednesday morning after
explosive residue was detected on a man’s shoes. The terminal was
reopened Wednesday afternoon after it was deemed safe.
