Boys basketball: Mesa falls
David Conte scored a team-high 22 points for Costa Mesa, but it
wasn’t enough as the Mustangs fell to host Northwood, 66-56, in a Pacific
Coast League boys basketball game Wednesday.
Conte also had eight assists while Nolan Clark pitched in with 11
points. Danny Krikorian chipped in with nine points and eight rebounds
for the Mustangs (14-9, 3-4 in league).
Costa Mesa came as close as 57-54 in the fourth quarter, but Northwood
(19-3, 7-0) made six free throws down the stretch to put the game away.
Northwood made 11 of 19 from the free-throw line, while Mesa hit six
of nine in the game.
