Pet of the Week
Even with the the serious drop in adoptions since Sept. 11, the
Community Animal Network “was blessed to have placed over 600 animals
into new homes from our weekend adoption events,” said rescue coordinator
DiAnna Pfaff-Martin.
Nearly 100 families participated in rescuing local shelter animals
from death, she said. Local high school and elementary-age kids lead the
crusade in promoting the animals at Fashion Island where pets are
available for adoption between noon and 4 p.m. on weekends at Russo’s Pet
Store.
In 2002, Pfaff-Martin said, the network looks “forward to people
renewing their financial commitment to give their tax deductible dollars
to The Community Animal Network, P.O. Box 8662, Newport Beach, CA 92658
or getting involved by calling (949) 759-3646.”
