New fire station to host February open house

With the annexation agreement having gone into effect Tuesday, Newport

Beach firefighters started their first day in the newly added Newport

Coast area.

Local residents can meet their firefighters and take a tour of Fire

Station 8 on Feb. 2 during an open house.

Also present will be city officials and other employees from the

General Services, Public Works, Utilities and Police departments.

The open house will feature fire engines, police vehicles and other

support equipment that will now service the Newport Coast community.

Information booths on the D.A.R.E program, animal control, lifeguards and

Red Cross will also be present.

Cookies and punch will be provided by the Newport Beach Fire,

Lifeguard and Police associations.

Fire Station 8 is at 6502 Ridge Park Road. The open house will take
