Jennifer Aguilera were among the more than 400 graduates from Azusa

Pacific University during Dec. 14 commencement ceremonies. Larnard

graduated with an applied management degree and Aguilera graduated with a

human development degree from the Christian evangelical university that

servicing rights from nationally mortgage lending clients. McNulty has

more than 20 years experience in the mortgage lending area. Downey

resident Thomas Noonan graduated from DeVry Institute of Technology in

February 2001. Zahir graduated with a degree in business administration

from the school’s Long Beach campus while Noonan graduated with a degree

in technical management from the school’s Pomona campus. DeVry offers

bachelor’s degree programs in computer engineering technology, computer

information systems, electronics engineering technology, business

administration, telecommunications management and offers an associate

degree program in electronics and computer technology. DeVry has 23

undergraduate campuses in 13 states and two in Canadian provinces.

Affiliates in Newport Beach Connie Betton received a Prudential Community

Champions Rising Star Award of $250 for Visions for Prisons. She devotes

an average of 16 hours per month to helping provide women a safe place to

come together and find unity. Visions for Prisons provides self-help

programs to help women in prison develop an awareness of their full

potential. It provides books, videos and awards for inmate students and

encourages personal dignity and self-love. Betton is one of 892

Prudential employees and retirees volunteering to provide service and

leadership in their communities. ...Scott D. Carter, son of Judge Brian

and Mrs. Carter of Corona del Mar, has been promoted to rank of

Commander, USNR. The Corona del Mar High School graduate also graduated

from the California Maritime Academy and is a licensed ship’s captain and

Master Mariner in the Merchant Marine. He is currently assistant port

captain for Sause Bros. in Honolulu, Hawaii.
