Orange Coast College’s Dance Department will hold auditions at 11:30
a.m. Jan. 30 for its “Fiesta Latina” in Dance Studio C, 2701 Fairview
Road, Costa Mesa.
The third annual dance and cultural outreach concert will be staged
May 3. The audition is open to anyone in junior high school or older. No
previous Latin dance experience is necessary.

Dinner for New Year’s Eve
Maggiano’s Little Italy will offer three dinner seatings New Year’s
Eve at 5, 7 and 9 p.m. Grammy nominee Doc Anello and his band will
perform at 1 a.m. after a champagne midnight toast and other festivities.

Art college to offer extension classes
The Art Center College of Design, in Pasadena, will offer extension
classes through its non-degree program in various Orange County cities
including Newport Beach starting in January.
On Mondays, instructor Parisa Ashrafi will teach Introduction to
Graphic Design from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Orange County Museum of Art, 850
San Clemente Drive, Newport Beach.
Each class will run for 14 weeks, starting Jan. 14. The course costs
$650.

African dance class available at OCC
Ronald Brown, a classically trained ballet dancer specializing in West
African dance, will teach a “Dances of Africa” course at Orange Coast
College in the spring, beginning Jan. 28.
The course will feature a live African drummer and will focus on
traditional and contemporary dances, polyrhythms and the link between
dance and culture.
The one-unit course will meet from 8 to 10:05 p.m. Thursdays.
