CORONA DEL MAR - The Corona del Mar High boys soccer team was
outscored, 2-0, in the second half and lost to visiting Huntington Beach,
4-2, in nonleague action Friday.
CdM sophomore Chris Ringstrom scored off an assist from senior captain
Andy Almquist to tie the game, 1-1, in the 20th minute. Almquist then
provided the go-ahead goal with his header after senior Shogo Fuji’s
corner kick just before halftime. But the Oilers (2-3) shut out the Sea
Kings (2-2) in the second half.
CdM returns to action Wednesday hosting Calvary Chapel at 3:00 p.m.
