Men’s water polo: Former Sailor honored

Former Newport Harbor High water polo star Jon Pharris, now a
senior at Princeton, has been named Most Valuable Player of the Southern
Division by the Collegiate Water Polo Association.
A CWPA Player of the Week three times this season, Pharris made 233
saves to help Princeton win the Southern Division championship and finish
18-8.
He was team co-captain and comes off a year in which he earned CWPA
first-team All-Southern honors and was named to the America Water Polo
Coaches Association’s Academic All-American team.
Princeton finished its season by placing sixth at the Eastern
Championships.
