Equestrian: CdM riders victorious

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO - The Corona del Mar club equestrian teams won

overall titles in the varsity and junior varsity levels, while two CdM

riders also won individual honors in their respective divisions at the

Interscholastic Equestrian League show Sunday at The Oaks.

Anne Schroeder was the top overall rider in the junior varsity

competition, while Katie Jones, also representing CdM, tied for the

individual crown in the novice division.

Julia Koetting and Nicole Kim led CdM to the varsity team title, while

the junior varsity crown was captured with contributions from Elyse

Avila, Jessica Cardelucci, Sarah Mendlesohn, Laura Peck and Schroeder.

After four of seven shows this season, CdM is third among some 40 IEL

schools.

The next two shows are scheduled Jan. 12-13.
