Cal State Los Angeles built a 36-27 lead by halftime and made it
stand up as host Vanguard University’s men’s basketball team came up
short, 70-65, in a nonconference game at The Pit Thursday night.
Vanguard took a 46-44 lead on Damion Morbley’s two free throws, but
that was the Lions’ last roar as CSLA improved to 2-1.
Morbley led the Lions, 2-4, with 19 points, and Shane McKim and Josh
Pierson had 13 and 12 points, respectively.
