Pet of the Week
The Community Animal Network rescued “this beautiful, diluted
tortoise-shell we call Allure from death row last year,” said DiAnna
Pfaff-Martin, founder of the group.
Allure and her sister, Channel, had four reconstructive eyelid
surgeries to make them adoptable because they were born without eyelids,
Pfaff-Martin said. Their eyelashes were painfully rubbing on their eyes,
she said. Both were adopted, but Allure’s owner’s elderly mom is needing
to be cared for because of illness, Pfaff-Martin said. Allure needs to
find another loving home.
Since Sept. 11, network donations and adoptions have dropped almost to
zero, Pfaff-Martin said. Anticipating better luck over the holidays,
shelter animals are being rescued this week, she said.
“Please open your hearts and save an animal’s life by adopting an
animal in need” or donate money to the network for animal rescue this
Christmas, Pfaff-Martin said.
