Air Force Airman Lance Urey and Air Force Airman 1st Class Michael Krueger have graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force

Base, San Antonio, Texas. In addition to gaining military skills the

airmen, who complete basic training, earn credits toward an associate

degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Urey is the son of

Nita Urey of Huntington Beach and Yvonne Armstrong of Bieber. He is a

2001 graduate of Marina High School. Krueger is the son of Robert Krueger

of Huntington Beach and the brother of Robert Krueger Jr. of Anaheim. He

is a graduate of Lutheran High School in Anaheim. . . . William Griffin

Jr. of Boy Scouts of America Troop 488 collected nearly 3,000 books for

the library as part of his Eagle Scout Project. . . . Orange County

Water District Board Member Wes Bannister was elected to the Executive

Committee of the Assn. of California Water Agencies Joint Powers

Insurance Authority. The organization is a partnership of California

water agencies working to share the risks involved with being a water

supplier. Nominees for the committee must receive at least five

concurring nominations to qualify for the election. Bannister received
