BOATING FORECAST
Today’s rainstorm will make things interesting in the inner and outer
waters.
In the inner waters, the southerly winds will become southeasterly
blowing light at 10 knots, with waves of about a foot and a mixed south
and west swell of 4 feet this afternoon. Later, the southwesterly winds
will pick up to 10 15 knots, blowing even stronger overnight at 15 to 20
knots. Waves will increase to about 3 feet.
Out farther, the southerly winds will blow strong at 15 to 25 knots,
with waves of 2 to 4 feet and a northwest swell of 6 feet in the
afternoon. That swell will build to about 10 feet later.
Expect much of the same this evening with the swell building to
between 10 and 12 feet.
SURF
The northwest swell will peak today bringing in waist- to chest-high
waves with the occasional shoulder- and head-highs. Expect much larger
waves on Wednesday when another northwest swell looks as though it’ll
generate waves overheads, some 2 to 3 foot over.
