Sailors roll, 16-2

WALNUT - Newport Harbor High’s girls tennis team elected to compete
without standouts Natalie Braverman and Megan Hawkins in Saturday’s CIF
Division II second-round match against host Walnut High, and it didn’t
make much difference.
The second-seeded Sailors, now 13-3, shelled the Mustangs, 16-2, to
move into Tuesday’s quarterfinals, most likely against Sunny Hills at a
site to be determined by coin flip.
Senior Kelly Nelson and sophomores Diana Khoury and Vanessa Dunlap
swept their singles foes to lead the way.
