Pirates win Regional

CYPRESS - Orange Coast College’s women’s water polo team jumped to
a 2-0 first-quarter lead and made it stand up en route to a 7-5 victory
over Riverside in the Southern California Regional final at Cypress
College Saturday.
The Pirates, No. 1 in the state with a 33-1 record, got a pair of
goals from Neisha Hoagland and Tia Montalvo in the title game, and goalie
Heather Deyden made it stand up with six saves. Riverside is 30-5.
Coast won earlier in the day over Mt. San Antonio College in the
semifinals, 12-7.
